Socio-politologist & IRD Representative in Cote d’Ivoire
Fred Eboko holds a PhD in Political Science and is the Representative of the French National research Institute for Sustainable Development (IRD) in Côte d’Ivoire since September 2020 and Deputy Director of its Population and Development Center (CEPED). He has been working on health policies in Africa for twenty years. He was the precursor of a typology of African States faced with HIV/AIDS. He has proposed an original methodological and theoretical tool to analyze public policies in Africa and in the South: the « public action matrix ».
Professor at Sciences-Po Paris, Fred Eboko was a member of the Board of Directors of Doctors Without Borders (MSF) from 2010 to 2016, and is Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of Épicentre, an epidemiological research institute of MSF.
He is the Publication Director of the online review Face A Face. Regards sur la santé. He has published Repenser l’action publique en Afrique. Du sida à l’analyse de la globalisation des politiques publiques (Karthala, Paris, 2015) and co-signed the collective works Les Suds face au sida. Quand la société civile se mobilise (IRD Éditions, Marseille, 2011).
