Socio-Economist, Deputy Director of JRU ART-Dev, CIRAD

Jean-Michel Sourisseau is a socio-economist at the French Agricultural Research Centre for International Development  (CIRAD) and director of its joint research unit « Actors, Ressources and Territories in Development » (ART-Dev). Dr. Sourisseau works on income diversification strategies of agricultural and rural families. He has studied the agriculture of large West African irrigated perimeters, and family agriculture on the islands of Mauritania and Kanak (New Caledonia). Since 2012, he has been coordinating CIRAD’s work on family farming.
